DCU Visa Gift Card is rated 1.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buy a gift card somwhere else. When I bought gift cards at my old bank or even at a drug store, I was able to register the card in my name and home address, either on line or by telephone, as a security measure. It is impossible to do this with a DCU card. Even the branch manager got frustrated trying to do it for me (she thought I must be doing it wrong). I buy gift cards for myself to do online shopping, but PAYPAL won't accept the DCU card because it isn't registered to the card buyer, only to DCU. Also, at all other financial institutions, gift cards are free of charge when bought by a member. DCU feels the need to charge $4 each. I'm going to buy my cards at CVS from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy I don't know why it's so difficult to find the balance on this card. The phone number doesn't work and online isn't working either. Tried to call DCU and the mainline has a 30 min wait!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Most difficult gift card ever to get card balance By far, the most difficult gift card to get balance info for that I have ever had. All other gift cards I've had allowed you to get card balance online. Either this info is extremely difficult to find or its not there on DCU's website. DCU's gift card needs you to make an inconvenient and time consuming phone call just to find out balance left on card. Have advised my brother that for my birthday to please just buy me a coffee instead of a gift card from DCU. I'll be in a far less frustrated state of mind.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great card for the back not so much for the end user Little to no info on line. Call telephone number and needed to spend 2-3 minutes with menu selection before I was connected to a person. Waited another 4-6 minutes only to find out they had little to no valve for the call. The gift card was worth $250 but it cost me $750 in stress-I will never accept another gift card again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not able to get a balance on the gift card. I hope I never receive another DCU gift card. I can't use it without knowing the balance and I can't get the balance off the website. What good is it?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No online card balance checking They have a web link that is supposed to show your purchases and balance. That link does not work. I have been trying to get them to fix it, but it is still broken. I cannot recommend this product until the web site is fixed. The link on this page gets you to a page that says the page has been "decommissioned".

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I agree with all the folks about a fee for Visa gift cards I could understand it for people who are non members and just walk in. I am totally disappointed with the DCU on this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Visa Gift Card Fee I thought I was going to stop by the bank to finish my Christmas shopping but after seeing the cost of the Visa Gift Card I'll be going elsewhere. $3.95 is shocking and it's not to often if ever I've been this disappointed with DCU. Michele

How can I find out what is left on a gift card

Asked by: Papa
I figured it out! Search gift cards. Click on number 1. Then click on the green tab that says Details. Then click on gift card services online and it should take you to a page that you can find your balance. Hope it works for you.

I bought books paid by VISA card in August 2012 haven't received yet Feb 2013, does Visa have any recourse help in such cases?

wrote him the second time Jan 2013 said would be mailed "next week", that was some weeks ago. To us this is FRAUD, and Theft. We have email and hard copies of the transactions.
Asked by: Gar
DCU has recourse in obtaining a refund through VISA from the merchant only within 60 days of the transaction posting to your account. If more than 60 days have passed since the transaction posted, to obtain a refund, you would need to work with the merchant directly or take legal action.
