DCU’s Annual Memorial Scholarship Program    

DCU recognizes the lifetime value of a college education. The DCU Memorial Scholarship Program is designed to assist students with the cost of this education. DCU wants to recognize your hard work and promote your goals, too. Students in their senior year of high school who will be attending a state or nationally accredited college or university in the fall of 2020 are now able to apply for the Annual DCU Memorial Scholarship Program.* These scholarships are awarded on academic merit, teachers’ references, an original essay, awards and recognition, and extracurricular and community service activities. An impartial panel of college educators will judge the participants’ entries. In 2020, DCU will award up to $165,000 in scholarships. All funds are distributed through the DCU for Kids Foundation.

Applications and all supporting materials are due on or before Friday, March 6, 2020, by 3:00 pm Eastern Time and must be submitted electronically. Any materials received after the deadline date will not be sent for judging. Scholarship winners will be notified in early May.

* All DCU employees, volunteers, subsidiaries, affiliates, and their immediate families are ineligible.

Get Paid to Refer Friends and Family to DCU!

It’s easy to refer:

  1. Log into Account Manager in Online Banking
  2. Click “Share DCU” on the left
  3.  Select “Refer a Friend

Once you complete the online referral, we’ll send an email with a referral code to your friend or family member inviting them to join DCU. This code is valid for 90 days and can be input on their new membership application. Once your friend opens their new membership and a qualifying product (see below), you’ll get $10.00, and they’ll get $20.00!*

New Membership Qualifying Products:

Once your referred friend or family member’s membership is opened, they will need to open at least one of the following products in order for

you both to qualify for the new member referral bonus:

  • Checking Account with recurring Direct Deposit of your payroll, retirement, Social Security, or other monthly recurring income
  • Checking Account with at least five debit/credit card transactions, bill payments, balance transfers, or P2P transfers in a calendar month
  • A vehicle, RV, boat, or mobility loan (purchase or refinance)

*Code and offer expire after 90 days, new referred member has 90 days from receipt of invitation to redeem referral code, open a membership and any one of the qualifying products listed above. After the new membership and qualifying product are open, bonus money will be deposited into both members' DCU Primary Savings Accounts. If opening a Checking Account with recurring Direct Deposit, bonus money will be deposited after one month of active Direct Deposit. If opening a Checking Account with 5 monthly transactions (as defined above), bonus money will be deposited after the five transactions have successfully been completed within the same calendar month. 2020 Board Nominees and Annual Meeting


The Nominating Committee chose Njeri Gichohi and Anshul Gupta, to serve 3-year terms on the Board of Directors starting on Friday, April 13, 2020. The following information was supplied by the nominees:

Njeri Gichohi* – Njeri is currently a data privacy attorney in Boston, Massachusetts.  Previously she worked in Worcester, Massachusetts where she provided privacy, health and Social Security legal support to health plan and health benefit organizations. Njeri’s goal is to increase accessibility of banking to ordinary people and support the growth of small businesses in the community.

Anshul Gupta – Anshul has led digital transformation efforts and launched many commercially successful products used by millions of users, for HBO, Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase & Startups. He is passionate about applying technology to deliver solutions that enhance people's financial well-being and simplify access to financial education and banking services. Anshul brings global know-how through his prior experience in Asia, Europe, and USA.

DCU’s Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 5:00 pm at DCU Corporate Headquarters, 220 Donald Lynch Boulevard, Marlborough, MA.

According to DCU Bylaws, when there is one nominee per position, an election will not be conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor. Nominations also may be made by petition signed by at least 500 members received by the Election Coordinator by 3:00 pm Eastern Time, Friday, February 7, 2020.
