Work Life Balance

DCU recognizes the importance of work life balance – offering hybrid and remote roles, flexible work schedules, and on-site fitness centers at all of our back offices. To encourage our employees to have fun with their family outside of work, we also offer free and discounted tickets to several attractions, amusement parks, and theaters – with daily raffles for concert and sporting event tickets.

Fun Environment

Daily life can be stressful, that’s why we encourage employees to have fun! In our back offices, staff dress casually and enjoy free soda and snacks, a full-service cafeteria, game rooms, and fitness centers. And of course, our DCU branches enjoy great perks too.

New Employee Welcome

Our employees feel the welcoming warmth of DCU culture on their very first day. Human Resources starts the day with a meeting for all new employees, followed by a weeklong training program. During the week, new employees are invited to a casual meet-and-greet with members of the Senior Team. By the end of the meeting, the Senior Team knows all new employees by name – offering the keys to success at DCU.

This is just the beginning of the "DCU Experience."

Mentorship

We set our employees up to be successful with a culture that promotes helping, supporting and enabling others to be the best they can be. We take a keen interest in our employees’ career development – supporting those who want to grow with the company or may want to switch roles.

Vice Presidents frequently coordinate shadow days and on-the-job learning opportunities in the departments employees aspire to.

Career Development Counseling

We assist employees in identifying and improving skills so that they may expand and enrich their current job or change careers. This is accomplished through internal on-the-job training to improve job skills, internal cross-training, Tuition Reimbursement for continuing education or seminars, and our job-posting program.

Ongoing Training Programs

Training in DCU’s products, procedures, systems, and sales skills is essential for team members to perform efficiently and assist members. We provide our employees with a number of one-time, and on-going training programs – including new hire training, product training modules, sales training, diversity training, computer skills, system training, and leadership development.

Focused on Innovation

DCU has created a Think Tank for all employees to submit ideas to improve the credit union’s current processes, member experience, or propose innovative solutions. All ideas will be presented to and evaluated by a committee comprised of Managers from different areas of the credit union. Employees will be awarded gift cards for their solutions.
