Employees begin with 15 days (3 weeks) of vacation their first year and earn 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 10 years, and 30 days after 15 years. They can carry up to two weeks vacation over to the next year, and can sell back earned time.
Employees also receive personal days equivalent to their standard hours. The number of personal days varies each year based on the federal holiday schedule. In addition to the federal holidays, employees at DCU receive a day off on the Friday after Thanksgiving and a day for their birthdays for a total of 14 paid days per year.

DCU will reimburse tuition costs up to $800/course, up to five courses per year for regular full-time employees and three courses per year for regular part-time employees working a minimum of 20 hours/week.

This is accomplished through internal on-the-job training to improve job skills, internal cross-training, educational aid for continuing education or seminars, and our job-posting program.
Training in DCU's products, procedures, sales skills, and systems is essential for staff to perform efficiently and satisfy members. We provide our employees with a number of one-time and on-going training programs, including new hire training, product training modules, sales training, diversity training, computer skills, system training and leadership development.
DCU provides a group term life and AD&D insurance policy equal to one times the employee's annual salary at no cost to the employee. This benefit is available to full and part time employees who work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
