Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you're applying for a loan GO TO THE BRANCHES! I recently attempted to apply for an auto refinance loan for my vehicle through the DCU online services. It was a terrible and frustrating experience. It only asked for limited information regarding my income and it wasn't clear or didn't allow how the income was supposed to entered. I applied and went almost a week and a half before I heard anything. When I did I received an email declining my loan. I 've been a member in good standing for ten years and I didn't deserve so much as a phone call before the declination was given? Perhaps a HUMAN being could have asked for clearer income information and the loan would have been approved. I went to the Manchester branch with pay stubs and my commission reports. I sat with the branch manager. She was exceptional in her understanding and professionalism. She sorted everything out quickly and had me approved at a great rate and even managed to shave a year off my loan. My advise to anyone is to sit down with the professionals at the branches. I trust experience and knowledge over an algorithm any day.

Can I walk in and get loan help?

My boyfriend and I are trying to get pre-approved for a mortgage loan, but we are getting confused with the process. If we do the free pre-approval online do we have to pay if we get approved? Could we just come into the branch and talk to someone about getting pre-approved or do we need to make an appointment?
