What are Money Wires?

Money wires (or wire transfers) are a fast, safe way to move money between accounts at different financial institutions.

How to order a Domestic Wire

  1. Online – Log into Online Banking, go to Account Manager and choose Payments/Transfers.
  2. By Phone – Call the Information Center at 800.328.8797.
  3. At any DCU branch

How to order an International Wire

  • Online – Log into Online Banking, go to Account Manager and choose Payments/Transfers. If you do not have access to a computer, you can visit the Internet Café at many of our branches.

To send a wire, we'll need:

  1. The Prime member's name, your name – if you're not the Prime member, your member number, and the residential address.
  2. The account (suffix) number of the account from which the funds will be sent. Your member number is the umbrella number for your whole DCU relationship. Your account number is the one or two digit number found on your statement for each of your checking, savings, certificate, or loan accounts.
  3. The name and address of the receiving bank.
  4. The receiving bank's 9 digit ABA number for Domestic Wires.
  5. The receiving bank's Swift Code for International Wires. Please be advised International Wires have different requirements, dependent on country. The list of requirements are available to you in Account Manager.
  6. The account number the money is going to and the full name and address of the person on that account.

To speed processing of your request, we prefer you log into Online Banking and submit your request online using our secure wire transfer form located under Account Manager in the Payments/Transfers tab.

To receive a wire, the sending institution will need:

  1. Our ABA number – 211391825.
  2. Your name/name on account.
  3. Your account number.
    • Your member number for deposit into your savings account, or
    • Your checking account number. We refer to this number as the SDC (cross reference) number and it is the 8-digit number at the bottom of your check.

DCU does not participate in the Swift Network and therefore does not have a Swift Code or IBAN. If you are receiving funds from a foreign country, the originating institution will need to send the funds through an intermediary institution. It is up to the origination institution as to what intermediary institution they use, as DCU has no affiliation with any other institutions. Please contact the originating institution for their wiring instructions. Please be advised additional fees may be charged by the intermediary bank due to contractual agreements. DCU has no prior knowledge of these fees and is not responsible for them.
