Online Deposit Benefits and Details

Deposit checks from anywhere with DCU's Online Deposit! Online Deposit allows you to deposit checks from     anywhere, anytime with your camera-equipped smart phone or tablet, or a scanner attached to your PC or Mac computer.

Now you will never have to mail in your checks, drive to an ATM, or visit a Shared Branch again. The process is very simple and convenient. Below are some highlights about this outstanding service:

  • Deposit checks* anywhere, 24 hours a day 7 days a week for free (data rates may apply) using your
  • Easy to use – deposit a check in less than 2 minutes
  • It’s safe and secure within Online Banking and Mobile Banking
  • We email you when deposits are processed or if any adjustments are made
  • Funds are credited the same business day if submitted by the standard processing time
  • You will no longer need to fill out deposit slips or make photocopies of the checks you receive
  • Easily load check images into your accounting software
  • Copies of deposited checks are kept in Online Deposit for 6 months for easy retrieval

Online Deposit Registration

To begin using Online Deposit, you'll first need to register online. Here's how:

  • Log into Online Banking by clicking or tapping on the Login button in the upper-right hand corner of any page of dcu.org and input your DCU member number and online banking password.
  • Select the "Online Deposit" link in the top navigation bar.
  • Select "Register."

  • Log into Mobile Banking
  • Touch the Deposit button on your screen
  • Choose the depositing account
  • Accept DCU’s Online and Mobile Banking Agreement.

Please note, you'll need to have a current email address on file with your Online Banking Account. Don't have an email address on file with DCU? Select User Options in Mobile Banking or Online Banking to update your information. Once you've agreed to DCU’s Online and Mobile Banking Agreement, please allow 1 business day for us to process your registration.

Once you have downloaded and installed the DCU Mobile Banking app on your compatible iPhone, iPad, or Android device and have registered and are approved for Online Deposit through Online Banking, you can begin to deposit checks. 

  1. Make sure the back of the check is endorsed with:
    • Your signature
    • The phrase, "DCU Mobile Deposit Only"
  2. Log into Mobile Banking and select Deposit
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the total amount of the check(s) to deposit, and photograph the front and back of the check. Once you receive an email confirming your deposit, write PROCESSED on the check(s) and store in a safe place. You can destroy deposited items after 60 days.

Once approved for Online Deposit, you can begin to deposit checks from your PC or Mac in 5 easy steps: 

  1. Make sure the back of the check is endorsed with:
    • Your signature
    • The phrase, "DCU Mobile Deposit Only"
  2. Log into Online Banking and select Online Deposit then proceed to the next screen.
  3. Choose the account you would like the check(s) deposited to.
  4. Use the "Choose Scanner" button to choose your scanner. Enter the total amount of the check(s) to deposit. Then, using your scanner, scan the front and back of the check(s) and click Submit to continue to the Deposit Review step. Once you receive an email confirming your deposit, write PROCESSED on the check(s) and store in a safe place. You can destroy deposited items after 60 days.

  • Business hours for Online Deposit are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Eastern Time, except holidays.
  • Checks submitted and approved for deposit prior to the end of our business day will be deposited to your account on the same day.
  • Deposits submitted after the end of our business day will be deposited on the next business day. 

What if I encounter a problem with Online Deposit? If you encounter problems or develop questions while using Online Deposit, our support team is here to help. Here's what you can expect: 

  • Online Help – Select Help or "?" as you begin a transaction and you'll see information specific to the page you are on.
  • Online Support – Our Information Center online support team aims to respond to all emails we receive in 24 hours or less. However, responses may take longer if we are experiencing high volume. Live Help is also available from Online Banking 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (ET) Monday through Friday.

With DCU Mobile Banking

You'll need a WIFI connection or a cellphone data plan with one of these devices...

  • iPhone® – Version 12.0 or newer with built-in camera, DCU's iPhone Mobile Banking app.
  • Android® devices – Android version 5.0 or newer with built-in camera and DCU's Android Mobile Banking app.
  • iPad® – Version 12.0 or newer with built-in camera and DCU's iPad Mobile Banking app.

With DCU Online Banking

You'll need...

  • A TWAIN and WIA-compliant scanner – Can be a stand-alone scanner or an all-in-one printer with scanning capabilities
  • A PC or Mac with a high speed internet connection
    • PC running Windows 10 or greater with current browser version (or one prior version).
    • Mac running Big Sur Mac OS or greater with current browser (or one prior version).

Best mobile deposit out there

I'm a new member and have been sticking with $200 deposits at a time because many banks and CUs only want to do the minimum required by law and place a hold on whatever amount is over $200. Not DCU! The app also OCRs the front page of the check and finds errors in advance so that you are able to prevent technical issues.
