Deposit checks from anywhere with DCU's Online Deposit! Online Deposit allows you to deposit checks from anywhere, anytime with your camera-equipped smart phone or tablet computer or a scanner attached to your PC or Mac.  

Now you will never have to mail in your checks, drive to an ATM, or visit a Shared Branch again. The process is very simple and convenient. Below are some highlights about this outstanding service:

  • It's free and available 24 hours a day 7 days a week (data rates may apply)
  • Easy to use – deposit a check in less than 2 minutes
  • It's safe and secure within Online Banking and Mobile Banking
  • Help screens and video tutorials are available online
  • We email you when deposits are processed or if any adjustments are made
  • Funds are credited the same business day if submitted by the standard processing time
  • You will no longer need to fill out deposit slips or make photocopies of the checks you receive
  • Easily load check images into your accounting software
  • Copies of deposited checks are kept in Online Deposit for 6 months for easy retrieval

Online Deposit Registration

To begin using Online Deposit, you'll first need to register online. Here's how:

  • To register on your computer
    • Log into Online Banking by clicking or tapping on the Login button in the upper-right hand corner of any page of dcu.org and input your DCU member number and online banking password.
    • Select the "Online Deposit" link in the top navigation bar.
    • Select "Register."
  • To register on your mobile device
    • Log into Mobile Banking
    • Touch the Deposit button on your screen
    • Choose the depositing account
    • Accept the Online Deposit Terms and Conditions.

Please note that you'll need to have a current email address on file with your Online Banking Account. Don't have one? Select User Options in Mobile Banking or Online Banking to update your information.

Once you've agreed to the DCU Online Deposit Disclosure and Agreement, please allow 1 business day for us to process your registration

Using Online Deposit with a mobile device

Once you have downloaded and installed the appropriate DCU Mobile Banking app on your compatible iPhone, iPad, or Android device and have registered for Online Deposit user through Online Banking, you can begin to deposit checks.

  1. Make sure the back of the check is endorsed with...
    • your signature
    • DCU member number
    • the account number where you'll deposit the funds
    • The phrase, "For Deposit Only at Digital Federal Credit Union, via dcu.org, on mm/dd/yyyy."
  2. Log onto Mobile Banking and select Deposit.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the total amount of the check(s) to deposit, and photograph the front and back of the check. Once you receive an email confirming your deposit, write PROCESSED on the check(s) and store in a safe place. You can destroy deposited items after 60 days.

Using Online Deposit with a computer and scanner

Once approved, you can start using Online Deposit to deposit checks from your PC or Mac in 5 easy steps:

  1. Make sure the back of the check is endorsed with...
    • your signature
    • DCU member number
    • the account number where you'll deposit the funds
    • The phrase, "For Deposit Only at Digital Federal Credit Union, via dcu.org, on mm/dd/yyyy."
  2. Log onto Online Banking and select Online Deposit then proceed on the next screen.
  3. Choose the account you would like the check(s) deposited to.
  4. Use the "Choose Scanner" button to choose the appropriate scanner. Enter the total amount of the check(s) to deposit. Then, using your scanner, scan the front and back of the check(s) and click Submit to continue to the Deposit Review step. Once you receive an email confirming your deposit, write PROCESSED on the check(s) and store in a safe place. You can destroy deposited items after 60 days.

Deposit processing time frames

  • Business hours for Online Deposit are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Eastern Time, except holidays.
  • Checks submitted and approved for deposit prior to the end of our business day will be deposited to your account on the same day.
  • Deposits submitted after the end of our business day will be deposited on the next business day.

If you encounter problems or develop questions while using Online Deposit, our support team is here to help. Here's what you can expect:

  • Online Help – Select Help or "?" as you begin a transaction and you'll see information specific to the page you are on.
  • Online Support – Our eBranch support team answers virtually all emails we receive in 24 hours or less. LiveHelp is also available from Online Banking during normal support hours.
  • Telephone Support – For questions in regards to the Online Deposit service, please contact DCU's Electronic Services Department at 508.263.6700 or 800.328.8797.

You'll need a WIFI connection or a cellphone data plan with one of these devices...

  • iPhone® – Version 3.1.2 or newer with built-in camera, DCU's iPhone Mobile Banking app.
  • Android® devices – Android version 2.0 or newer with built-in camera and DCU's Android Mobile Banking app.
  • iPad® – iPad2 or newer and DCU's iPad Mobile Banking app.

With DCU Online Banking

You'll need...

  • A TWAIN-compliant scanner – Can be a stand-alone scanner or an all-in-one printer with scanning capabilities
  • A PC or Mac with a high speed internet connection
    • PC running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 8 or newer, Mozilla Firefox 2 or newer, or Chrome
    • Mac running OS X 10.5 or newer with Apple Safari 3.1 or newer or Mozilla Firefox 3 or newer.

Best mobile deposit out there

I'm a new member and have been sticking with $200 deposits at a time because many banks and CUs only want to do the minimum required by law and place a hold on whatever amount is over $200. Not DCU! The app also OCRs the front page of the check and finds errors in advance so that you are able to prevent technical issues.
