Online Deposit Details

Deposit checks from anywhere with DCU's Online Deposit! Online Deposit allows you to deposit checks from anywhere, anytime with your camera-equipped smart phone.

Now you will never have to mail in your checks, drive to an ATM, or visit a Shared Branch again. The process is very simple and convenient. Below are some highlights about this outstanding service:

  • We email you when deposits are processed or if any adjustments are made
  • Funds are credited the same business day if submitted by the standard processing time
  • No need to fill out deposit slips or make photocopies of the checks you receive
  • Easily load check images into your accounting software
  • Copies of deposited checks are kept in Online Deposit for 18 months for easy retrieval

DCU is the Online Deposit pioneer. We introduced it in June 2008 – way before all the big banks. By March 2012, members had deposited more than $1 billion into their accounts. We hit that milestone before anyone.

Online Deposit Registration

To begin using Online Deposit, you'll first need to register online. Here's how:

  1. Log into Mobile Banking
  2. Touch the Deposit button on your screen
  3. Choose the depositing account
  4. Accept the Online Deposit Terms and Conditions.

Please note that you'll need to have a current email address on file with your Online Banking Account. Don't have one? Select User Options in Mobile Banking to update your information.

Once you've agreed to the DCU Online Deposit Disclosure and Agreement, please allow 1 business day for us to process your registration

Using Online Deposit with a Mobile Phone

Once you have downloaded and installed the appropriate DCU Mobile Banking app on your compatible iPhone or Android device and have registered for Online Deposit user through Online Banking, you can begin to deposit checks.

  1. Make sure the back of the check is endorsed with . . .
    • your signature
    • DCU member number
    • the account number where you'll deposit the funds
    • The phrase, "For Deposit Only at Digital Federal Credit Union, via, on mm/dd/yyyy."
  2. Log onto Mobile Banking and select Deposit.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the total amount of the check(s) to deposit, and photograph the front and back of the check. Once you receive an email confirming your deposit, write PROCESSED on the check(s) and store in a safe place. You can destroy deposited items after 60 days.

Deposit processing timeframes

  • Business hours for Online Deposit are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday Eastern Time, except holidays.
  • Checks submitted and approved for deposit prior to the end of our business day will be deposited to your account on the same day.
  • Deposits submitted after the end of our business day will be deposited on the next business day.

If you encounter problems or develop questions while using Online Deposit, our support team is here to help. Here's what you can expect:

  • Online Help – Select Help or "?" as you begin a transaction and you'll see information specific to the page you are on.
  • Online Support – Our eBranch support team answers virtually all emails we receive in 24 hours or less. LiveHelp is also available from Online Banking during normal support hours.
  • Telephone Support – For questions in regards to the Online Deposit service, please contact DCU's Electronic Services Department at 508.263.6700.

To use Online Deposit, you'll need a WiFi connection or a cellphone data plan with one of these devices . . .

  • iPhones® – Version 3.1.2 or newer with built-in camera and DCU's iPhone Mobile Banking app.
  • Android® phones – Android version 2.0 or newer with built-in camera and DCU's Android Mobile Banking app.

I just did my first mobile deposit and I have two checks left sitting around. What do I do with them?

After I do my mobile deposit and I see the money in my bank account I shred the checks and throw them away so I don't have a pile of checks laying around that I don't need.

If I deposit my check using online deposit how long will it take before funds are available

I know when you use ATM deposit it takes a few days for the check to clear .. My question is how long will my check take to clear if I use online deposit?

I have done my deposits in the moring and at 4pm. The check has always been put into my account the same day. I think if you do it after bank hours then it will be the next day.

how can I view a check that I deposited with my iPhone, once it's accepted?

I go into my DCU app put my password in then I go to where I asked the check to be deposited. I always put in in my checking account so I click checking account when it opens I click recent transaction look for the amount I deposit then click that and a picture of the front and back of the check is there to view.
