Distance Learning
Distance Learning, in which courses are typically taken by correspondence, online, video/TV or a combination, is another option for education. Distance learning is available for all ages. Some programs enable you to earn a diploma, degree, or certificate.
A good place to begin is with Distance Education: A Consumer's Guide. It is an excellent overview produced by the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunications.
Peterson's Online Degrees and Distance Learning is a section on the Peterson's site that provides various information related to distance learning. There is a series of articles with lots of good information.
Paying for Your Distance Education provides some specific information relating to financial aid for distance education.
