Savings and Certificate-Secured Loans
It can be very challenging to build up your savings. When you have a sizable nest-egg, rather than spend it, you may want to borrow against it. DCU Savings and Certificate Secured Loans give you an economical way to do that.
Rates on loans secured by a DCU Savings Account are a flat rate. Rates on loans secured by a DCU Certificate Account are based on a margin above the rate on the Certificate Account you are using as collateral. See our rates page for current interest rates and margins. The rate on your loan is fixed for the full term. Repaying is easy. You can set up your loan for weekly or monthly payments. Each payment will be the same amount. That amount, and how your previous payments were applied to principal and interest, are shown on your regular DCU monthly statement.
You can repay electronically any of three ways. (1) You can repay online with PC Branch with a simple transfer from any of your DCU savings accounts. When you set up Automatic Transfers with PC Branch, it's even more convenient. (2) You can also make loan payment transfers by phone with Easy Touch Telephone Teller. (3) Finally, you can have DCU automatically make the payments by automatic transfer for you. All you need to do is fill out and send us your authorization form. You can even make Loan Principal-Only Payments on Easy Touch Telephone Teller.
In addition, you can repay at a DCU ATM, at any DCU branch, or by mail with a loan payment coupon.
