 Simple Steps to DCU Membership

Joining DCU online is quick and easy. If all the information is available it only takes about 5 to 7 minutes to complete and verify your personal information, agree to terms and conditions, and fund the account.



 This is What You Need

To make this process easy, gather the following information before you start the application. Complete and accurate information is necessary for a successful online account opening. For security reasons data entry inactivity lasting longer than 15 minutes will result in a time out situation, and the data already entered will be lost. A minimum deposit of $5.00 is required to join.
  • Have your Social Security or ITIN number handy. For additional personal identification, have your drivers' license or state issued ID available.
  • If you currently are or have previously been a DCU member, either as primary or a joint owner, this online application will not work for you, at this time. The online application cannot be used to open a membership for a minor. Please click on our membership application (PDF) to set up a new membership.
  • If there will be a joint owner that person should be present or you need to know their personal information, including Social Security number.
  • If you're eligible to join through a family member you'll need their member number and name.
  • You have 2 choices to fund the account, through ACH (Automated Clearing House) or mailing in a check or money order. If you are using ACH you will need the routing number and account number for the financial institution that you are transferring funds from. If you are using ACH to fund the account the maximum initial deposit is $100.
  • During this process you will be asked a series of questions which will be used to authenticate your identity.
  • To complete the application you will be presented with disclosures and be required to accept them. Your acceptance of these disclosures electronically constitutes your signature.
Funding is required to activate your account. It will be locked until that requirement is met. If the account is not funded within 45 days it will be closed. Online applications cannot be used for business, trust, power of attorney, beneficiary, or individual retirement accounts.
