About Barnyard Cents
It's important to start your child off on the right financial path early in life. DCU's Barnyard Cents program can help you do just that. Barnyard Cents members will have fun while they learn about savings accounts, the importance of saving, and what a credit union is. Children 12 and under are eligible for membership in the program.*
The program is full of fun and educational activities. When your child becomes a Barnyard Cents member they'll receive their very own Starter Kit with the following items:
- Money Tracker. A booklet that will help your child keep track of their money by writing down deposits, dividends, and withdrawals.
- Calculator. Your child can use this calculator to help them figure out their balance in their Money Tracker.
- Quarterly Statement. In April, July, October and January your child will receive their statement. This will tell them everything they need to know about their account.
- Newsletter. With their statement, they will receive a newsletter that has fun articles and games. If your child receives eStatements make sure their email address is up-to-date to ensure they receive their newsletters.
- Web Site. This web site features fun contests, activities, coloring pages and facts that will be updated on a quarterly basis. They can visit us online at barnyardcents.org!

*DCU members until age 12 must have a joint owner of legal age listed on savings accounts and savings only ATM cards.
Don't let your child miss out on a healthy financial future. It's easy to join! If your child is 12 years or younger and becomes a DCU member, they will automatically join the Barnyard Cents program. Just print and fill out the Membership Application** or pick up an application at any DCU branch. Once your child joins, we'll send them their FREE Starter Kit right away!
In addition, we'll give them a special high rate on their Savings until age 19.
