How do I apply for a Visa Credit Card loan account?

Web Site – Complete your Visa loan application online.
Telephone – Call 508.263.6700 or 800.328.8797 and select 3. You can apply by touch-tone phone or speak to a 24-Hour Loan Call Center representative.
DCU Branch – Visit any DCU branch.



What documents will I need with my Visa application?

You may have to provide income verification. A copy of a recent pay stub will work for most members.



How soon can I expect a decision on my Visa application?

24 hours after we receive your application.



How long will it take for me to receive my Visa card?

Two weeks from approval.



How do I activate my Visa card?

You must call the 800 number listed on the sticker on the front of your card. Answer the questions when prompted. Your card is now activated. This prevents unauthorized use of your card before it reaches you.



When is my Visa payment due?

The Next Payment Due Date will vary depending on the number of days in a given month and will be reflected on your monthly statement.



How do I know what I need to pay on my Visa?

Monthly Statement – Your monthly statement will tell you what your Minimum Payment is and when it is due. You are only obligated to pay the Minimum Payment. You can choose to pay more if you wish.
Easy Touch Telephone Teller System – Select 6 when you call.
PC Branch – When you join DCU, you are automatically signed up for PC Branch. Just access PC Branch and read the prompts to get information about your Visa account.



How can I pay my Visa bill?

Electronic Payment – Have DCU pay the minimum, a fixed amount you pre-select (or the minimum payment due, whichever is higher), or the total balance due each month by automatic payment from any DCU Checking or Savings Account.
PC Branch – You can transfer funds from any of your DCU Checking or Savings Accounts to pay your DCU Visa using PC Branch. Just log on from the home page and choose account transfer to get started.
Easy Touch Telephone Teller System – Transfer funds from any of your DCU Checking or Savings Accounts with a touch-tone phone. All you need are your DCU PIN, DCU Member Number, and the Account Number of your DCU Visa. To use Easy Touch, call and select 6. Follow the prompts to make loan payments.
Mail – You can write a check and mail it to us with your payment stub in the enclosed envelope. Make sure the DCU payment address shows through the envelope window.
DCU Branch – Visit any DCU branch.
DCU ATMs – There are two ways to pay your Visa bill at a DCU ATM...
  • Transfer your payment from any of DCU Checking or Savings Account.
  • Fill out a DCU ATM envelope and enclose cash or check for the amount of your payment.


How can I obtain my available Visa credit limit?

Monthly statement – Your monthly statement will tell you how much you have left as your available credit limit, excluding the effect of payments and charges made since the statement date.
Easy Touch Telephone Teller System – Call and Select 6.
PC Branch – Log onto PC Branch from the home page and click on the Visa link. This will show you your account details.



How do I have my Visa credit limit increased?

You must reapply for a DCU Visa – Follow steps for applying for a DCU Visa.



What if there's a charge on my Visa statement that I didn't make or is for the wrong amount?

Information on disputed charges must be submitted to us in writing within 60 days upon receipt of your monthly statement. You must include, your name, member number, date and dollar amount of the error, a detailed description of why you believe there is an error, and your signature.
Online – Log on to PC Branch from the home page with your Member Number and password, click on Secure Forms, fill out the disputed transaction form, and click Submit.
Fax – Fax the information to the DCU Account Services Center at 508.263.6453.
Mail – Mail the information to DCU, Attn: Account Services Center, 220 Donald Lynch Boulevard, Marlborough, MA 01752.



What is the ScoreCardTM Program?

Every time you make a purchase with your DCU Visa Credit Card, you earn ScoreCard points!* You can save these points to buy valuable merchandise and Travel Awards.
You get catalogs on available awards in your Visa statement from time to time. To get an updated point total or for more information on the prizes, call ScoreCard at 800.854.0790.

How do I apply for a vehicle loan?

Web Site – Complete a Vehicle Loan Application online.

DCU Branch – Visit any DCU branch.



What documents will I need with my vehicle loan application?
  • Income verification for all borrowers. A copy of a recent pay stub is sufficient.
  • If purchasing a new or used vehicle from a dealer, provide a copy of purchase and sales agreement.
  • If purchasing a vehicle from a private party, provide a copy of current title (front and back) or a copy of the current registration, and an Intent to Sell Letter which includes the year, make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN), price, and signature of seller.
  • If refinancing, provide a copy of the current registration, and list the name of the financial institution, the telephone number, current loan balance, and loan account number where the title is held.


Can I be pre-approved for a vehicle loan?

Yes. You can find out if you've already been approved by logging onto PC Branch from the home page or by calling the Information Center.
You can also apply for a pre-approved loan before you go to a dealer. You'll know how much you can borrow before you shop.
In either case, you may receive an Auto Loan Check good for the maximum amount of your pre-approval. Be sure to read and follow all the instructions with the check before using it. Being pre-approved is like shopping with cash and gives you more negotiating power with car dealers.



How soon can I expect a decision on my vehicle loan application?

Can I refinance my vehicle?

Yes, DCU will refinance vehicles that are owned outright or financed elsewhere. Follow the steps to apply for a vehicle loan.



When will I receive my vehicle loan documents?

By mail – Within 3-4 days of speaking with a Consumer Loans representative. Next day delivery of your loan documents is available for a fee.
DCU Branch – Set up an appointment at any DCU branch for immediate help.



What do I do with the vehicle loan documents I receive?
  • Read all documents and follow directions completely.
  • Sign the back of the check when you purchase the vehicle and give it to the seller.
  • Retain copy of the Note and Loan Agreement for your records.


How can I pay my vehicle loan?

Electronic Payment – If you have a Loyalty Checking Plus relationship and make weekly or monthly electronic payment from any DCU Checking or Savings Account, you'll get the lowest rate based on your personal credit history. Add .5% for other payment methods.
PC Branch – You can transfer funds from any of your DCU Checking or Savings Accounts using PC Branch. Just visit our web site at dcu.org and log on to PC Branch from the home page.
Easy Touch Telephone Teller System – Transfer funds from any of your DCU Checking or Savings Accounts with a touch-tone phone. All you need are your DCU PIN, DCU Member Number, and the Account Number of your Vehicle Loan. To use Easy Touch, call and select 6. Follow the prompts to make loan payments.

How do I apply for a Personal Cumputer (PC) Loan?

What documents will I need with my PC Loan application?

  • Income verification for all borrowers. A recent pay stub is sufficient for most members.
  • Price quote detailing the specifics of the systems being purchased.


How soon can I expect a decision on my PC Loan application?

24 hours after we receive your application.



When will I receive my PC Loan documents?

How do I apply for a mortgage loan?

Web Site – Complete a mortgage application online.
Telephone – Call to speak with a mortgage representative. Representatives are available Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Eastern Time. They will take you through the DCU application process from start to finish. Your loan will be a DCU mortgage.
DCU Branch – Visit any DCU branch.



What documents will I need with my mortgage application?
  • Income verification for all borrowers. A recent pay stub is sufficient for most borrowers.
  • Copy of recorded deed with book and page number.
  • Copy of past 2-months credit union and bank statements showing balances.
  • Copy of most recent tax bill

    (Other documents may be requested at the time of application.)


How long does it take to be approved?

We can give you a conditional pre-approval in 24 hours after we receive your application.



How long does it take from when you receive my completed application to receive a commitment from DCU?

Up to three and a half or four weeks.

  • A 20-year draw and 20-year repayment
  • Take up to two fixed-rate advances (min. $5,000) at current Fixed-Rate Installment Loan rates and terms. As the principal is paid down, the amount is again available on the line.
  • An interest-only option is available for the line portion.
Equity Line 1-2-3
  • Interest that's tax deductible for most people. Interest on first $100,000 balance is deductible on federal taxes. Other restrictions may apply. The Internal Revenue Service at irs.gov (publication 936) and your State Department of Revenue have more information on deductibility.
